A message from Jan & Britt...

Britt works tirelessly to raise money and is out in the community spreading awareness and her mission.  Our commitment to making a difference knows no bounds. While our big events and continuous programs hold a special place in our hearts, the essence of our last-minute crisis intervention truly defines our purpose.

​

Sometimes, capturing the countless ways we lend a helping hand in words is impossible. Picture this: a mother hustling the kids into the car so they can drive to her child's chemo session, only to discover a lifeless car battery. With no means and no funds for a replacement, Mom panics. That's when we receive a call from a social worker or the hospital, and without hesitation, we jump into action. We rush to buy a new battery within a few hours and ensure it's promptly installed.

It's nearing 5 PM; we learn that a family has nothing to put on their dinner table. Most times, within an hour, we're off to the store, gathering dinner for that night and enough food to sustain them for a few days. Our goal is simple: to alleviate that awful feeling of an empty stomach and bring warmth and nourishment during a rough patch. No one should ever go to bed hungry. After that, we help families navigate services and food banks that are at times confusing.

Sometimes, it's the smallest things that have the most profound impact. A child who's been wearing shoes that are too small or tattered faces discomfort and embarrassment. That day or the next, we'll have a brand-new pair, ensuring their little feet are protected and their spirits lifted. We deliver these shoes directly to their doorstep and are often met with smiles and hugs, which is always our favorite part!

 

We believe in a streamlined approach that eradicates paperwork and removes unnecessary obstacles. When families reach out to us, our promise is simple: we will always answer the phone, ready to extend a helping hand. If there's a way for us to make a difference, we do so with unwavering dedication. We understand that swift action and genuine support can transform lives in times of crisis.
